The Timberwolves fired head coach
Tom Thibodeau on Sunday and ex-Bulls’ coach Fred Hoiberg is being mentioned as
a possible replacement. Thibodeau
treated every game of the regular season like it was game seven of the NBA
Finals; he also acted with all the grace of Bill Belichick, but none of the
championships. He won’t be missed, at
least not here.
As for Hoiberg, hmm. He wasn’t the right fit for a rebuild, even
with his experience as a college coach having to handle young players. The Timberwolves are young, but not
baby-Bulls’ young. And the Minnesota
players may play hard for anyone not named Thibodeau, at least this
season. Stay tuned.
