Scott Boras, the agent
for Cubs’ starter Jake Arrieta, employed some interesting metaphors Saturday to
describe his client’s value.  Boras
called Arrieta “a squirrel with a lot of nuts in the tree.  He’s a big-game squirrel.”  The mind boggles.
It also wonders if
Boras and Arrieta aren’t worried about impending free agency.  Usually, Boras builds up a client, e.g. Jason
Werth,  to Cooperstown status.  But all of a sudden Boras is talking nuts and
how the Cubs haven’t turned them down yet.
Is it me, or did the big squirrel just blink?
