MLB under the purported leadership
of Commissioner Rob Manfred wanted a deal with players and wanted it done
immediately, if not sooner, as one of my eighth grade teachers liked to put
it. Waiting for the players to give in,
Manfred busied himself negotiating at least one big television contract. And now?
Well, according to the Cubs’ Kris
Bryant, players are waiting to be tested per the COVID-19 protocol. Bryant said yesterday that teammates have
gone seven to eight days without being tested; it’s supposed to be every other
day or so. And owners wonder why players
distrust them.
I don’t.
