The
Cubs got rocked in Colorado on Sunday by a score of 11-4. After the game, philosophe/guru/bon-vivant/manager
Joe Maddon said, “This is an anomaly game for me.” Well, if Joe can go to his thesaurus, I can break
out to my Webster’s, which lists “anomaly” as a noun. Joe, I think you were looking for
“anomalous,” though I would’ve gone with, “The game today sure was out of
character for us.”
Remember,
the purpose of language is to communicate with people, not impress them with
your vocabulary.
