The NFL
announced this week that it won’t allow a commercial by General Nutrition
Centers to be run during the Super Bowl.
NFL policy does not allow advertising banned supplements, as can be
found in GNC products.
Never fear,
though. The NFL is OK with ads for stuff
the abuse of which leads to alcoholism or obesity, while an argument can be
made that the simple intake of junk food—you guys know who you are, hence the
clever ads—constitutes abuse of one’s body.
Luckily, the NFL is very good at compartmentalizing things, like they do
with concussions.
